Platanus occidentalis · American Sycamore
A sycamore is the easiest tree in these woods to pick out. The tent under it is not. Sage off the leaves, cream off the bark, nothing in here competing for your attention. Two queen beds, which is how two couples travel together and still get to say goodnight and mean it.
Its Tree
Platanus occidentalis
Sycamores shed their bark in plates rather than hold onto it, so no two trunks in the timber look the same. They carry the biggest leaves of any tree out here, and they are among the last to let them go.
The Same in All Five
19.5 foot bell tent · 289 square feet · 11 foot ceiling · 360° double sidewall you can roll up for mesh views
Canvas cools faster than a house. There's heat and A/C in every tent, but if you're coming in December or January, pack warm layers for the night.
