White and dusty rose is a dogwood in flower, and that is where the inside of this one came from. A sheepskin your feet find before the floor does, a fur throw across the king. Den was the word we wanted. Somewhere small and soft that you climb into and do not come out of until you feel like it.

Its Tree

Flowering dogwood

Cornus florida

The state tree of Missouri. The four white petals are not petals at all, they are bracts, and the real flower is the small green cluster in the middle of them. The veins curve toward the tip instead of running straight out, which is how you name a dogwood leaf once the flowers are gone.
